#GoDaddy trademark an issue with GoDaddyPayments.com
Following news that GoDaddy is introducing GoDaddy Payments, a payment solution for GoDaddy’s Online Store and Managed WordPress Ecommerce, someone from China registered the domain GoDaddyPayments.com.
This is not a registration of a generic set of terms, however, as “GoDaddy” is a registered trademark in various forms with the USPTO.
Not only is GODADDY a registered trademark, but it’s also a world famous one, as GoDaddy is the biggest domain name registrar in the world.
By offering GoDaddyPayments.com for sale on the Chinese domain marketplace 4.CN, the domain’s registrant is opening themselves to the UDRP process, litigation, or both.
The GoDaddy mark is strong, aged, and enforceable worldwide.
