New CEO and two board members will help guide Nominet back to its roots.

Paul Fletcher has been named the new CEO of Nominet. He will begin in February.
Nominet, the group that manages the United Kingdom’s .uk namespace, named Paul Fletcher its CEO today.
Fletcher is currently CEO at BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, an organization with 60,000 members. He will join Nominet in February 2022.
He’s taking over for interim CEO Eleanor Bradley. Bradley was installed after former CEO Russel Haworth resigned ahead of a member vote that would have likely forced his exit.
That vote was organized by members frustrated by the organization’s scope creep. The non-profit was reinvesting in new business lines rather than running a simple registry and giving its profits to other charities.
Simon Blackler, who architected the vote that led to the shakeup at Nominet, was recently voted in as a board member. The other non-executive director voted in was Ashley La Bolle of Tucows. Tucows was one of the largest registrars to vote for the overhaul.
