$3,000 seems to be the magic number for Qoute.com

Qoute.com

Don’t “Quote” me on this, but it seems like $3,000 is the magic number for the typo of the word Quote.

A few weeks back I saw that QOUTE.com closed at $3,005 and then $3,250 at GoDaddy auctions. Again GoDaddy failed to secure payment and the domain name dropped.

DropCatch caught Qoute.com and it closed again in the $3,000 range, $3,045 to be exact.

Qoute.com was originally registered in 1997, and looking at whois it looks like the nameservers before the drop belonged to buy domains.

Very odd, don’t know if they forgot about it or just did not want the domain name any longer.

Quote is not a word that makes the top misspellings according to the Oxford English Corpus. So someone might have wasted $3,000.
